According to several reliable sources of pages BGR, RIM is planning to take applications BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) up two rival platforms Android and IOS. RIM is currently determining the specific time of issuance and sale prices, and forecast the flow of information about the event rather contradictory. There are people that RIM would release free BBM, while other sources said it might be time to charge a fee or even repeat customers every platform using third BBM 3.

This is a rather strange strategy of RIM, because we all know BBM is one of those applications are preferred customers of RIM, and there are advantages to its customer retention. However, if the page to see the whole scene, we find that RIM is not without reason. RIM is currently very unhappy when such applications or Kik WhatsApp are very successful on other platforms, while they are concepts initiated by RIM.

More likely on the Android version of BBM or IOS will be a shortened version of the RIM Blackberry OS from the original. That means customers can communicate back to those who are using the BBM, but they can not share photos, videos or location. Those who want to experience BBM must still complete their shopping for a Blackberry. Thus, RIM will own chat application / messages on most major platforms today, and finally it can attract more customers to the BlackBerry, thanks to the experience acquired from BBM.

Right now, one thing is certain that BBM will be available on Android, though no official time. RIM Android selected for a open source operating system, the development and application integration much easier. However, RIM also will build and deploy an IOS version for a short time later.
