“Mozilla takes the challenge to Google in the release schedules tighter with the new versions of its browser, but for the time to wait yet another beta release of Firefox 4″
Important news coming from Mozilla on the development of Firefox in the coming months will be revised procedures for issuing the various releases and a few months after version 4 could already get the new Firefox 5 . The news was given by Brendan Eich, CTO and cofounder of mozilla.org, in a list for developers.
Brendan Eich is the time to change gears, it is time to also release new features in the interim release and, reading between the lines also seem to notice a different approach to solving bug: minor problems can be resolved at a later time. The choice of Mozilla seems to be driven by the need to adapt to what is already done today with Google Chrome in beta that is already working on Chrome 9 and 10.
Firefox 4.0 is now in beta: the tenth release was issued several weeks ago, is expected to follow the eleventh version and release candidate, after this date up to the stable version 4 should be brief and the issue is expected for the month of February. Ten release and a beta test that began in July may be enough to justify a review of how to operate home-ons?
From users is of course hope that this acceleration in the time of issue does not correspond to a lower quality of work and test phases, especially in relation to the sensitive area of security. In the coming weeks also expect news from Microsoft for the release of the browser Internet Explorer 9, for which a date has not yet been set but is expected by next March.
