Intel: new information on SSD 700 Series

Sprout new details about the network SSD 700 series that Intel is expected to present during the summer, and more specifically on the two 710 models with capacities of 100 and 200 GB. The unit will use a 3 Gbps SATA II controller with a 64MB cache, features that can reach the 270-210 MB / s (read-write) with peaks of 36,000 IOPS with rows of 4 KB.

The performances are not exceptional but Intel will offer high-end market the seriesRamsdale 720 with PCI-E, capacity of 200 and 400 GB of RAM and 512MB cache. These “monsters” using 34nm MLC memory and can reach 2.2 GB / s read and 1.8 GB / s write, IOPS with regard to speaking of 180000 and 56000 (read / write) with rows of 4 KB.

We have no definitive data on prices, but certainly the 720 series units will not be popular.
