Why a “single cable” costs 49 €? Just because Apple is branded? To these two questions, which surely many of you will be placed, have tried to answer the guys at iFixit have that once again set to work to analyze in detail the power that promises Thunderbolt transfers data at speeds never seen before.
Here is what allows you to quickly make this cable:

Use it also to enable Target Disk Mode between two Mac with the Thunderbolt, or to transform an iMac into a monitor for a MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt.
There are two chips on one side 1JG S6A, and other SS8370 1102F and 131 other 3S. Of course, there are also many very small resistances that will surely have an impact, albeit in small part, on the final cost of the product
